I didn't believe my mother when she alerted me to the drastically increased ant activity around the letterbox.
"That means its going to rain" she told me in that wise-to-the-ways-of-the-world tone of voice.
Looking at the sky myself I doubted it, but took a photo just in case.
Sure enough, a few hours later the rain came pouring down.
Did these little guys (Formicidae) know something that I didn't?
Scientific evidence seems to be out on the question, but today at least they got it right.
